Came Dawn,
The golden light, so incipient
Brought in hope:
Hope, that a day better, will follow;
Hope, that a dream new, will be fulfilled;
Hope, that a person near, will be met.
Came Hope,
The golden light, so inchoate
Brought in happiness:
Happiness, that a job thought, will be done;
Happiness, that a wish sincere, will be granted;
Happiness, that a person dear, will be met.
Came Happiness,
The golden light, so ineffable
Brought in smiles:
Smiles, that are ubiquitous;
Smiles, so very unceasing;
Smiles, that a person, my own, will be met.
Came Dusk,
The golden light, now fading
Brought in gloom:
Gloom, that the day, better could have been;
Gloom, that the dream, better could have been fulfilled;
Gloom, that the person near, will be going away.
But, came Gloom,
The golden light, again flickered bright,
Brought in hope:
Hope, that a new dawn will follow;
Hope, that new hope will arise;
Hope, that the person dear, will be met again.
And, came Hope,
The golden light, now bright,
Brought in wishes:
Wishes, that the dawn next might come soon;
Wishes, that the person dear might be all right;
Wishes, that I'll meet the person, my own, again tomorrow.
For that, is human nature!
Beautifully carved, bringing out the essence of affirmative human psychology...
ReplyDeleteReading this reminds me of a famous quote from the movie Shawshank Redemption
"Hope is good thing, may be the best thing in the world and no good thing ever dies.." :)
